Following directives from HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Housing, Bassim bin Yacoub Al-Hamar, while visiting Al-Dair and Samaheej villages, stressed that the housing needs of the local villagers will be included in the ministry’s action plan.
According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the minister said that the field visit comes in line with Prince Khalifa’s directives and keenness to identify the citizens’ housing needs on the ground.
According to Al-Hamar, the housing ministry has, in the past, implemented a housing project for two villages, comprising 365 units and 148 land allotments. These were handed to the beneficiaries.
Further, during the visit, the minister and the representatives of the villagers discussed the possibility of implementing a housing project in the region and working on plans to use vacant lands to meet both housing requests and demands for other projects.
The minister was accompanied by the representative of the region, MP Dr. Hisham Al Asheeri; undersecretary of the ministry, Shaikh Khalid bin Hmoud Al Khalifa; assistant undersecretary for housing policies and services, Muharraq Municipal Council member, Fadhel Al-Oud, and other officials from the ministry.
