Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has commenced work to prepare three temporary centres that will be used to accommodate 7,000 workers across the country.
The Kuwait News Agency (Kuna), quoted deputy chairman of projects and the official spokesperson at KNPC, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, who said that the company’s initiative follows the Kuwaiti cabinet’s directives and comes in line with the framework of contributions by companies in the oil sector to support the Gulf nation’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Al-Ajmi added that the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) has dedicated three sites to KNPC as the designated areas for the development of the centres. These areas include Al-Ardiya, Al-Jahra, and South Al-Sabahiya.
According to Al-Ajmi, these areas are being equipped and provided with the basic facilities and services that are required to provide appropriate living conditions to the large number of workers.
