Jaguar Land Rover breaks ground on parts distribution centre in Dubai

Jaguar Land Rover has broken ground on a parts distribution centre located at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).

The facility will provide 19,000m2 of storage capacity, with the option to expand to 30,000m2 in the future.

The centre, which will serve customers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, is expected to be operational by Q1 2021.

The facility aims to ensure that Jaguar Land Rover meets its projected growth in demand for parts and accessories through the next 10 years and beyond. The demand is driven by an increase in the number of cars in the region.

Jaguar Land Rover has previously operated a regional aftermarket Parts Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali, Dubai, since 2014, serving nine MENA markets with genuine components.

The new facility, which marks an expansion in operations, will gradually inherit operations from the current site in November 2020, to ensure minimal disruption to customers.

In addition, the centre will allow Jaguar Land Rover to hold and distribute approximately 32,000 part numbers, including branded merchandise from the luxury marque.

It will be responsible for all inbound, warehousing, scheduling, and distribution tasks, and will aim to streamline the flow of parts to retail partners across the region, while enhancing customer service.

Commenting on the start of construction, the managing director of Jaguar Land Rover MENA, Bruce Robertson, said: “This is a key element of our regional expansion plans as we recognise the importance of offering first-class aftersales service, an essential ingredient of which is rapid parts supply.”

Robertson added: “The facility with its increased storage capacity ensures that our retail partners, and subsequently our customers, will always receive a fast and efficient response, whatever model they own.

“Demonstrating our long-term commitment to the MENA region, this distribution centre has been developed to keep pace with the projected growth of the market in the years to come. It will also makes sure that as our reach widens, we’ll maintain an exceptional service for Jaguar Land Rover’s discerning customers across the region.”
