Progress has been made on the $3,2bn (AED12bn) four-phased mixed-use megaproject Azizi Riviera, with the developer Azizi Developments having told Construction Week that Phase 1 is 55% complete, as several buildings within the phase are scheduled to be completed by 2020.
The developer said that Phase 2 is 37% and Phase 3 is 22% complete, with handover imminent for some of the buildings within Phase 1.
Speaking about the waterfront development’s progress, CEO of Azizi Developments, Farhad Azizi, told Construction Week:”It takes knowledgeable engineers, hardworking construction site workers, hundreds of accommodating suppliers, supportive government authorities, and a host of other stakeholders, to turn a project into homes for hundreds of happy families.
“We work closely with all of our stakeholders to ensure the swift delivery of our ongoing projects.”
Phase 1 of Azizi Riviera comprises 3,589 residences across 18 towers ranging from 2,461 studios, 935 one-bedroom, 111 two-bedroom, and 82 three-bedroom units. Total built-up area of Phase 1 is 375,541m2 and a total gross floor area of 180,854m2.
The developer has recorded a major construction milestone marking the installation of windows and commencement of paint works within the phase.
Meanwhile, commenting on Phase 1’s progress, executive director of engineering division, Mohamed Ragheb, said: “Seeing window panes being installed and the exterior getting its paint coatings is a very touching moment for us all. It signifies a construction site – a concrete skeleton – being manifestly turned into liveable homes.”
Located in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, Azizi Riviera features 71 mid-rise buildings comprising over 16,000 units.
