Large-scale mass grading works is progressing on the heart of Saudi’s Qiddiya project, the Resort Core.
The Resort Core will feature entertainment parks as well as a portfolio of resort hotel offerings.
The authorities responsible for the 334km2 Saudi gigaproject have confirmed that work is on track to achieve delivery, as planned.
Construction progress on the facility so far includes concrete utilisation of 30,000m3; steel usage of 3,991.6 tonnes; and use of more than 200 units of specialised equipment.
In terms of earthwork, the company recorded a cut volume of 2.5 million cubic metres and a fill volume of 2.3 million cubic metres.
The mass grading works were performed in compliance with the prescribed health and safety measures, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, authorities confirmed.
Qiddiya Investment Company‘s chief executive officer, Michael Reininger has displayed a positive outlook, despite the ongoing crisis. Reininger issued an optimistic message to Qiddiya employees, Construction Week previously reported.
