The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed a $1.23m (AED4.5m) road improvement project to ensure the safety of road users in the Al Dhaid city.
Sharjah’s road maintenance department has also completed maintenance and improvements work on Al-Oruba Street between the Al Shahwahiyin, Al Marijah, Al Ghuwair, and Umm Al Tarfa areas, at a total cost of $490,000 (AED1.8m).
In a post on the government entity’s official Twitter handle, the chairman of the SRTA, Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji, stated that the project was in line with the entity’s annual plan to develop roads and enhance infrastructure in various cities of the emirate.
Al Suwaiji added that cities in the central region are currently witnessing considerable urban, cultural, and tourism development.
The SRTA is focusing on road development projects in the region with the aim of providing the best services to UAE citizens and residents.
This is also in line with the UAE’s aim to improve the emirate’s competitive position, which will in turn attract further investments and boost development.
